This wooden propeller is from an early biplane powered by an OX-5 engine around 1914-1918. The JN-4 OX-5 Powered Navy Jenny float plane used this type of propeller.
Wood is perfect with no cracks in the laminations. Made by the Ahlstrom piano company who were contracted to build propellers for aircraft in WWI. Propeller is hard wood maybe mahogany 7 feet long and 8 inches wide. Two and 1/2 inch shaft hole in center. Brass covered tips and leading edges, a beautiful prop. Appears to be in air worthy condition . this is the real deal , a propeller that is almost 100 years old. I obtained this propeller from a small museum in N.Y. 30 years ago that was closing its doors.
